In our busy, extremely connected lives we rarely get an opportunity to just…be. The gift of silence is highly underrated in our constant “on” society. That is why we are so excited to bring you the art of doing nothing! R.E.S.T., or Reduced Environmental Stimulation Therapy, is a therapy of disconnecting from the stimuli around us so that we can focus on our own internal functions and health.
Our heavily dense salt baths contain 1,200lbs of Epsom salt dissolved in 800lbs of water, allowing you to float, perfectly buoyant, in the silky warm fluid. During your float, your body will be resting in a way it has never been allowed to before (well, potentially it found similar rest within the womb). No gravity is present on the joints and spine, no external tactile cues are detected, no light or sound filters into your space, it’s nearly free of all stimulation which allows your mind to reacquaint itself with your inner most processes.
Most clients choose to float for an hour to 90 minutes to experience the rest and relaxation they are seeking. Benefits of floating include better sleep, lowered heart rate, lowered blood pressure, relief from chronic and acute pain, muscle recovery, focus and a release from stress. Float studies have shown great improvements for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression and PTSD. Furthermore, individuals looking to meditate will find a much sought after solitude in the tank and can find themselves “drop” within minutes to their zen state. Hormone balance and hydration are other great benefits of R.E.S.T. For access to clinical trials, you are welcome to visit www.clinicalfloatation.com.
Float Magic will have three rooms for your floating practice; one open room, one enclosed room and one float pod. In addition to floatation therapy, we will have Infrared saunas, traditional saunas, massage, Zero-Gravity massage chairs, NovoTHOR whole body light pod, psychotherapy, mindfulness practices and meditation classes. Our projected opening is December of 2020. We look forward to bringing you this wonderful center where you can rejuvenate from the gravity of daily life.
To learn more about floatation therapy and the history of floating, you can watch the Documentary Float Nation. Float Nation explores the re-surfacing trend of floating, its many uses, and the reason for its disappearance.
